SSP: The workers of the “Palić” Zoo were fired because they spoke about the violation of veterinary ethics

The president of the parliamentary group of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) in the Parliament of Vojvodina, Robert Šebek, assessed today that the incompetence of the management of the Palić Zoo cannot be covered up by the dismissal of workers who have conscientiously cared for animals for decades and had the courage to speak about gross violations of the law and veterinary ethics.
In a written statement, Šebek emphasized that two groomers were fired this week at the Palić Zoo, which is a continuation of the persecution that began at the beginning of the year, when the contracts of five employees were not renewed, as information and evidence about the inhumane conditions in which the animals are kept in this institution reached the public.

“Director Sonja Mandić and veterinarian Marko Lazić, acting as an organized criminal group under the umbrella of the SNS-SVM clique, are carrying out a purge of all conscientious workers in order to hide the traces of the mass killing of animals, including tigers, leopards, bears, as well as dozens of other rare animals,” emphasized Šebek.
He stated that the SSP will not allow the regime’s henchmen of the coalition in Subotica to sacrifice conscientious workers and threaten the existence of them and their families in order to avoid responsibility for the destruction of the institution that was once the pearl of Palić and the entire region.
